American Photography 35

I am very excited to announce that I have work selected for the American Photography 35 annual! I had two images ‘chosen’ for the AP 35 online archive. The featured images are from two different bodies work. The first is from my on-going 'Equestrian Life' series that has been a collaboration with Bristol Show Stable in Phoenix, Arizona. I have been developing that series for several years now, you can view that project here.

The other photo is a diptych from my book project “These Years Gone By…” which is a love story told through my grandparents letters from World War II. From these letters, artifacts and old family photos, I have woven together a narrative that tells the story of this critical time in world history and challenging time in their personal history. I have been working on that project for several years and it was self-published last year in trade book form. You can view my project “These Years Gone By…” here.

This is not the first time my work has been selected for American Photography. A few years back I had work ‘selected’ for the American Photography 28 book from my series on ‘Freemasonry in America’. You can view that series here. I have included a spread of my work from the book since I have never shown it before. You can view the past winning selections from American Photography 28 here.

My personal work explores narrative storytelling through photographs and multi-media, usually consisting of constructed realties that cross over into implied fiction.
